Turkmenistan participates in Arab-Islamic summit in Qatar
15.09.2025Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov is in Doha on 14-15 September to participate in an emergency meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers from the League of Arab States and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. At the summit, the Turkmen delegation voiced the country's official position, emphasising the unacceptability of forceful methods of resolving international conflicts, which contradicts the UN Charter and the norms of international law. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the visit, R. Meredov met with the Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. R. Meredov conveyed greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
Turkmenistan steps up fight against tuberculosis
15.09.2025A specialised seminar on tuberculosis diagnosis was held in Ashgabat from 10 to 12 September, organised by the United Nations Development Programme in conjunction with the ‘Saglyk’ State Health Programme. The event took place at the Central Laboratory of the Center for Infectious Disease Control. This was reported by IIC. Experts from tuberculosis hospitals in all five velayats of the country took part in the seminar. The main goal of the event was to strengthen laboratory capacity and improve the quality of medical care in the field of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment. Participants learned about modern approaches to diagnosing the disease and mastered the practical application of the latest laboratory technologies. New ‘Yutong’ buses launched in Ashgabat
15.09.2025New ‘Yutong’ buses have been introduced on city routes in Ashgabat. These modern 12-metre vehicles with three doors and air conditioning have already begun transporting passengers, according to the news website Turkmenportal. The vehicles are equipped with Euro-5 engines and a cashless payment system. For safety and convenience, there are devices to monitor passenger boarding and alighting, video surveillance, GPS and cameras that track the bus's movement and the driver's performance. The interior is designed to accommodate people with disabilities, and there is a voice announcement system to notify passengers of upcoming stops. As part of the city's autopark renewal programme, the capital of Turkmenistan has received a total of 700 new Chinese-made buses.

A new issue of the journal ‘Issues of Philology’ has been published in Turkmenistan

A Korean language textbook for 9th grade students has been published in Turkmenistan

A striking example of the fulfilment of the tasks set is the publication of a new textbook, Korean Language, for 9th grade students in general education schools, prepared by authors D. Soyunnazarova and M. Mammedova (published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service, 2025). This was reported by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The textbook has a unique design and includes interesting exercises, poems, proverbs and riddles designed to develop students' intellect and increase their interest in the subject. ‘Arkadag’ set a record in the Turkmenistan championship with its 20th consecutive victory
15.09.2025In the 19th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship, ‘Arkadag’ Football Club defeated ‘Merv’ from Mary with a score of 3:1. Despite a goal by Novruz Bayrammammedov in the 9th minute, the visitors were able to turn the tide of the game due to a double by Altymyrat Annadurdyev and a goal by Didar Durdyev in the second half of the match. A new Japanese language textbook for 9th grade students has been published in Turkmenistan

Training courses on aviation security were held in Turkmenistan
14.09.2025The ‘Türkmenhowaýollary’ State Service, with the support of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), held two training courses on improving national aviation security. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal. The classes were conducted in accordance with ICAO international standards and European practices. The first programme focused on the testing and operation of screening equipment, the analysis of images in introscopes, the operation of explosive detectors and manual screening systems. The second course covered quality control systems: the organisation of supervision and inspections, instructor training, risk analysis and the elimination of violations. The renovated park ‘XV Years of Independence of Turkmenistan’ was officially opened in Ashgabat
14.09.2025The opening ceremony of the renovated park ‘XV Years of Independence of Turkmenistan’ was held in the Turkmen capital, attended by members of the Mejlis, heads of various government departments, honourable elders, public figures and residents of Ashgabat. The event began with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and the release of white balloons and doves into the sky, symbolising peace and prosperity. This was reported by IIC. Guests at the celebration were able to appreciate the modern landscape design and comfortable recreational facilities created in the park. Throughout the day, the park hosted art exhibitions, sports demonstrations and intellectual games for children. Musicians and dancers prepared a variety of creative performances.
