Women entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan made a study trip to Samarkand
12.09.2025As part of the EU-funded International Trade Centre (ITC) project ‘Turkmenistan: Enhancing Trade Resilience and Integration’, a study tour to Samarkand was organised for women entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan. This was reported by IIC Turkmenistan. The delegation participated in a series of ‘100+ Women's Leadership’ events aimed at exchanging experiences and strengthening business cooperation. The first two days were held in the format of a practical seminar in conjunction with the International Association of Businesswomen of Uzbekistan. Participants discussed the role of women's communities, shared professional stories and explored new approaches to sustainable business development. The focus was on mentoring, educational opportunities, interaction with government agencies and creating an enabling environment for women's entrepreneurship. The culmination was the ‘100+ Women's Leadership’ meeting, which brought together more than 200 women leaders from the region to discuss the impact of women on the economy, the digitalisation of business and innovative forms of intergovernmental cooperation. Turkmen women entrepreneurs presented their initiatives and learned about successful projects in Uzbekistan, which provided new ideas and inspiration. The final day was devoted to B2B meetings, where women entrepreneurs from the textile, education, IT, logistics and social sectors discussed the prospects for joint projects. Today, women in Turkmenistan are increasingly taking leading positions in business and public life. Such regional initiatives, supported by the ITC, help them develop projects and strengthen cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.
Turkmenistan sums up results of Central Asian Youth Forum
12.09.2025The Central Asian Youth Forum, held under the slogan ‘Health and Sustainable Development as a Path to Peace,’ has concluded in Ashgabat. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age.’ Participants discussed digital technologies and artificial intelligence, support for start-ups, addiction prevention and the development of cooperation in the fields of education and healthcare. Following the discussions, a draft roadmap with proposals for countries in the region was prepared, which will be finalised jointly. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the EU expressed their gratitude to Turkmenistan for organising the event. As noted by CADAP 7 Programme Director Ernest Robello, the forum's proposals will form the basis for further action to develop regional cooperation. The forum emphasised the importance of actively involving young people in policy-making and continued to implement national and international initiatives, including the ‘Strategy for International Cooperation of the Youth of Turkmenistan for 2023-2030’.
Ashgabat to host CIET-2025 International Conference
12.09.2025From 3 to 5 November, Ashgabat will host the International Conference on the ‘Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan’ (CIET-2025). The forum will serve as a platform for promoting innovation, attracting investment and strengthening international cooperation, according to IIC. The organisers are the relevant ministries and state-owned companies of Turkmenistan. Participants will include representatives of the authorities, business, international institutions and the scientific community. The main topics of CIET-2025 are the ‘green’ transition, digitalisation, infrastructure development, expansion of industrial zones, energy efficiency improvement and integration of renewable energy sources. The programme includes plenary sessions, industry panels, round tables, B2B meetings and the signing of agreements. The exhibition section will showcase modern solutions in the fields of urban development, clean energy and smart infrastructure. A record number of participants is expected, ranging from government agencies to leading global engineering companies.

New modern village Bitaraplyk opened in Turkmenistan
12.09.2025A new settlement, Bitaraplyk, and road bridges were opened in the Taze Yol geneshlik of Koneurgench etrap of Dashoguz velayat. The event was timed to coincide with the 34th anniversary of independence and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality, according to the state news agency TDH. The settlement was built as part of the National Rural Development Programme and includes 400 residential buildings, a school with 420 places, a kindergarten, a health centre, a cultural centre, administrative and residential facilities, as well as a park and a shopping centre. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the authorities, public organisations and residents of the region. Participants were read an address by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who emphasised that the construction of new settlements and infrastructure reflects the rapid development of the country. The first cars have already crossed the new bridges, and the first families celebrated their housewarming in the village. Residents expressed their gratitude for the comfortable living conditions that have been created. The opening of Bitaraplyk is part of the implementation of Turkmenistan's long-term socio-economic development programmes aimed at improving living standards and strengthening social infrastructure in the regions.
Turkmen Ambassador discussed the development of academic partnership with the Rector of Sokhumi State University
12.09.2025On 11 September 2025, negotiations took place in Tbilisi between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, D. Seyitmammedov, and the newly appointed Rector of Sokhumi State University T. Jugheli. On behalf of his country's leadership, the diplomat congratulated Ms. Jugheli, expressing confidence that her work as Rector would open a new fruitful stage for the university. The focus of the conversation was on the further development of a long-standing partnership, which has already proven its effectiveness in the implementation of joint projects in the fields of science, culture and education. Turkmenistan presented its medical cluster in Uzbekistan

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of healthcare, pharmaceuticals and medical education. The Turkmen delegation presented information on the creation of a large-scale medical cluster in Arkadag, focused on scientific research in the field of drug development and the production of medical products. Representative of Turkmenistan wins international competition ‘Tatar Kyzy – 2025’
11.09.2025The final of the international competition ‘Tatar Kyzy – 2025’ was held in the city of Orenburg, with 12 girls from various regions of the Russian Federation and neighbouring countries taking part. The winner of the competition was Alsou Rafikova, representing Turkmenistan, who received a traditional crown, a national khasite decoration and the keys to a Lada Granta car. This was reported by IIC. The competition events included a week of preparation in Kazan, where the participants rehearsed creative performances and got acquainted with the cultural traditions of Tatarstan. The final of the competition, held in Orenburg, was a large-scale event that contributed to the preservation of the Tatar language and culture, as well as the strengthening of interregional and international ties. The competition was organised by the World Congress of Tatars and the Directorate of the ‘Tatar Kyzy’ International Competition with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The final was held in Orenburg because a representative from this region won the competition last year.
Digital Bridge 2025 forum to be held in Astana

Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed energy partnership during a meeting in Islamabad

Turkmen climbers raise National Flag on Elbrus peaks in honor of 34th anniversary of independence
11.09.2025Specialists from the ‘Morinzhgeologia’ Service Group climbed the western (5,642 m) and eastern (5,621 m) peaks of Elbrus, where they raised the National Flag of Turkmenistan ahead of the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. The two peaks of the ancient volcano, connected by a high mountain ridge, are a symbol of the Caucasus and the highest points in Europe. This was reported by the online publication ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. This achievement is a continuation of a long-standing tradition: Turkmen climbers have previously conquered the highest peaks of five continents, including Everest (8,848 m) in 2019 and Chogori (8,611 m) in 2024. The National Flag was raised on each of them. ‘Morinzhgeologia’, working with international energy companies Petronas Carigali and Dragon Oil, thus demonstrates not only professional achievements in geological exploration on the Caspian shelf, but also dedication to national traditions. The EU and Central Asian Youth Forum has begun its work in Turkmenistan
11.09.2025The Central Asian Youth Forum ‘Health and Sustainable Development as a Path to Peace’ has kicked off in Ashgabat at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan. The forum, organised by the EU Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP 7) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, brought together young leaders, experts and representatives of government agencies from Central Asia, EU countries and other states. It was emphasised that the forum is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust. The aim of the event is to strengthen dialogue, leadership and cooperation among young people in the region. The forum is held in the format of thematic sessions devoted to addiction prevention, mental health, environmental culture, educational innovations and the development of youth well-being. Reports on foreign experience were presented, and interactive question-and-answer sessions were held. The following day, discussions are planned on the application of digital technologies and AI, support for youth start-ups, and the adoption of a final document and roadmap for strengthening cooperation with the EU. Guests are also offered a cultural programme, including a visit to the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets.
