Turkmenistan took part in the Gastech 2025 International Exhibition and Conference, held in Milan from 9 to 12 September. The national delegation presented comprehensive opportunities for attracting foreign investment and developing partnerships in the energy sector. This was reported by IIC. During the presentation, special emphasis was placed on the country's fourth place in the world in terms of natural gas reserves, including the unique ‘Galkynysh’ field. Significant attention was paid to the progress of the TAPI transcontinental gas pipeline, which opens up access to promising Asian markets. New investment projects on the Caspian shelf and in the oil refining industry were also demonstrated, and Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of sustainable development through the introduction of artificial intelligence, the development of renewable energy sources and the reduction of methane emissions was emphasised. Gastech 2025, dedicated to the future of natural gas in the context of the energy transition, featured discussions involving more than 50,000 experts from 150 countries. Leading global companies, including Chevron, Cheniere Energy and ADNOC, confirmed the important role of gas in ensuring global energy security. Representatives of the ‘Turkmen Energy Forum’ held a series of business meetings and invited participants to the 30th anniversary OGT 2025 International Forum in Ashgabat (22-24 October). The fact that the exhibition space is fully booked and around 300 delegates from 40 countries are expected to attend is evidence of the growing international interest in Turkmenistan's energy projects.
On 15 September, a meeting was held in Ashgabat between representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Ulvi Fikret oglu Akhundlu, Ksenia Dashutsina and Martina Barker-Ciganikova, and representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. A meeting was held in Tbilisi between Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia, and Georgian film director Tengiz Malania. The project will be timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. The ‘Oguzrobot’ team from School No. 97 in Ashgabat will represent Turkmenistan at the ‘First Global Challenge 2025’ international tournament, which will be held from 29 October to 1 November in Panama. This prestigious competition, known as the ‘Robotics Olympiad’, will bring together participants from more than 190 countries under the motto ‘Eco Equilibrium’. The teams' task is to create robots to protect biodiversity and restore ecosystems. ‘Oguzrobot’ has been participating in the tournament since 2017 and has already won medals and special prizes. The team is currently actively testing its robot, adapting it to the conditions of future trials. International cooperation will also be an important part of the competition: schoolchildren from different countries will come together to solve problems, which will promote the exchange of experience and the development of STEM education.

The Turkmenistan jiu-jitsu team achieved excellent results at the 20th Balkan Open Championship, which took place in Athens from 11 to 14 September. In total, the Turkmenistan team won 38 medals: 14 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze, confirming the high level of training of its athletes.
Last week, a series of events dedicated to the country's Independence Day took place in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the state news agency TDH. A modern glass factory with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day, equipped with equipment from leading global companies, opened in the Ahal velayat. The enterprise will reduce production costs, create jobs and expand export opportunities. A new village, Dovletli Mekan, has also been commissioned in the region, with residential buildings, a school, a kindergarten, a shopping centre and modern infrastructure. Similar projects have been implemented in the village of Bitaraplyk, where 400 houses, social and cultural facilities, as well as new road bridges have been built. On 10 September, cotton harvesting began, with round-the-clock maintenance of equipment and working conditions for machine operators provided. On 12 September, a new complex of buildings for the ‘Sarahs’ border guard detachment was opened in the Ahal velayat, with modern barracks, a medical unit, residential buildings and sports infrastructure. In addition, Ashgabat hosted the XXVI Conference of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, as well as the opening of the renovated park ‘XV Years of Independence of Turkmenistan’. These events were further confirmation of the course towards industrialisation, social development of the regions and improvement of living conditions for the population.

On 15 September, the eleventh meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea began in Ashgabat. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
