On 26 May, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyyev met with Belarusian Education Minister Andrei Ivanets in Minsk. The talks centred on the development of bilateral cooperation in education, including training of Turkmen students in Belarusian universities, the IIC reports.
The interlocutors emphasised the strategic importance of quality education as a foundation of long-term partnership between the two states. Special attention was paid to the improvement of educational programmes, expansion of academic mobility and introduction of modern educational approaches.
The head of the diplomatic mission said that 2025 in Turkmenistan is held under the aegis of the International Year of Peace and Trust, and also marks the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. In this regard, a number of international initiatives aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties are planned.
Andrei Ivanets reiterated Belarus' interest in supporting Turkmenistan's educational projects and expressed readiness for further dialogue aimed at expanding joint opportunities for students and the scientific and pedagogical community of both countries.
