The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a speech at the XVI International Economic Forum ‘Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025’. This is reported by the state news agency TDH.

Hero Arkadag expressed gratitude to the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov for organizing the forum and stressed the importance of dialogue in the changing geo-economic realities.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people said that Islamic countries have the potential to become one of the engines of global growth. According to him, Turkmenistan proposes to form an energy, transport and technological belt of Eurasia and promotes the ‘Revival of the Great Silk Road’ strategy.

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty also emphasised the need for coordination in transit, energy and food security.

At the end of his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the successful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasising the important role of the region in strengthening ties between the Islamic world and Russia.
