On 28 June 2025, an important meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during which Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks with representatives of Japanese businesses. The Japanese delegation included Hiroyuki Tsubai, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Economic Cooperation Committee, and Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of ‘Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.’ This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the constructive dialogue, the parties noted the successful long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in key sectors of the economy. Particular attention was paid to joint work in the oil and gas sector, the gas chemical industry, transport infrastructure, agriculture, electric power engineering and environmental projects.

The participants emphasised the important role of bilateral economic cooperation committees in the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations. During the talks, current joint projects were reviewed and promising areas for further cooperation were identified.
