As part of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to Azerbaijan on June 22, 2026, a ceremony was held to sign bilateral documents in the customs sector. This was reported by the TDH news agency.
Following high-level talks, the parties signed the Technical Conditions for the Exchange of Advance Information on Goods and the Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Customs Statistics of Mutual Trade.
The Technical Conditions provide for the exchange of advance information on goods being transported. The initiative is aimed at accelerating customs procedures, reducing cargo clearance times, and increasing the transparency of foreign trade operations.
The Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Customs Statistics is intended to improve the exchange of statistical data and enhance the accuracy of accounting for bilateral trade.
The implementation of the signed documents is expected to contribute to the growth of trade turnover and strengthen the region’s transit potential.
