A delegation of the Turkish Council of Higher Education, headed by Chairman Prof Erol Ozvar, has arrived in Ashgabat. On 18 May 2025, the Education World Forum, the largest international platform that annually gathers ministers and representatives of education departments from more than 100 countries, opened in London. This year's event is attended by a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Education Minister Azat Atayev, the press service of the Ministry of Education reported. On the first day of the forum, as part of the pre-summit programme, the Turkmen delegation took part in a strategic session on building inclusive, sustainable and effective education systems. The Turkmen side confirmed the inclusion of the PISA study objectives in the national concept of education system development until 2028. They discussed mechanisms to improve the international competitiveness of Turkmen universities. The Turkmen delegation headed by Deputy Education Minister Alexander Amanov took part in the World Conference on Digital Education ‘Education Development and Transformation: The Era of Intelligence’, which was held from 14 to 16 May in Wuhan (China). The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting on the development of partnership with the Institute of Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. Students of Turkmen universities achieved impressive success at the Lomonosov-2025 International Universiade organised by Moscow State University. Turkmen students won 2 first places and 6 prize positions, confirming the high level of preparation. This is reported by the online edition of ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. The absolute winners were Arslan Mamedov from the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and Lale Rzaguliyeva from the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. On 14 May 2025, a delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the XVIII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals of the CIS countries entitled ‘Commonwealth of Independent States: New Horizons of Humanitarian Cooperation’. From 11 to 13 May 2025, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan J.Gurbangeldiyev made a working trip to Urumqi (China), where he took part in the first meeting of education ministers of Central Asia and China. A unique training course organised by the State Customs Service in cooperation with the Ozone Centre of the Ministry of Environment Protection was held in the city of Arkadag. The event is aimed at training specialists to detect and stop illegal trafficking of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons. A teacher of the Department of Biology and methods of its teaching at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seidi Diyar Ykhtyyarov, was awarded the title of a laureate of the IV International Contest of scientific and methodological developments of young teachers of the CIS member states “Let's Learn to Teach - 2025”.
