From 6 to 10 November, the International Student Team Competition in Mathematics (ISTCiM) was held in Katowice (Republic of Poland), organised by the University of Silesia. Turkmen students showed brilliant results, winning a total of 22 awards of various merits, according to the state news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’. In the individual competition, representatives of Turkmenistan won nine gold, eight silver and two bronze medals. The most successful were students from the International University for the Humanities and Development, who added five gold medals to their collection of achievements. Students from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University won three gold and two silver medals, while the team from the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal. In addition, the Turkmen teams were successful in the team competition, winning two silver and one bronze medals, as well as two incentive awards at the end of the competition. The Olympiad brought together more than 150 students from leading universities in Poland, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, France and Turkmenistan. Participants were given complex tasks in mathematical analysis, algebra, combinatorics, geometry, probability theory and functional equations.
On 10 November 2025, a meeting was held between Gulshat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan, and Ivan Volynkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan. Teachers from the Aba Annaev International Academy of Horse Breeding made a working trip to the Slovak Republic. Representatives of the university took part in an international training seminar held at the University of Agriculture in Nitra, according to the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The event was held from 3 to 6 November 2025 as part of the Erasmus+ programme's Green Deal for Central Asian Universities (GDCAU) project. During the seminar, participants discussed issues related to the integration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals into educational programmes, the improvement of training courses, the introduction of two new disciplines, and the development of a joint master's programme. Representatives of the academy gave presentations on the structure and content of curricula, the expected results of student training, and modern teaching methods. On 6 November, the academy delegation visited the Horse Breeding Centre of the Slovak University of Agriculture, where they learned about the organisation of the training process, methods of overcoming equestrian obstacles, and the system of veterinary examination and diagnosis of horses. As a result of the visit, the curricula for a number of disciplines were updated and the level of professional training of the academy's teachers was improved.
Teachers from Kindergarten No. 13 in the Vekilbazar etrap of Mary velayat, Ogulgerek Annageldiyeva and Myahri Muhammetguliyeva, won first prize in the international competition ‘Teachers' Mastery: Dolls as Keepers of Cultural Heritage,’ organised by the Russian Committee of the World Organisation for Early Childhood Education (OMEP) under the auspices of UNESCO. The competition was held as part of the ‘Little Ambassadors of the Big World’ festival, according to the online news resource AsmanNews. Teachers from Turkmenistan presented their original dolls Akpamyk and Yartygulak in traditional Turkmen costumes to the jury. The works were highly praised for their artistic execution and educational potential – through play, they help children develop respect for national traditions and love for cultural heritage. The success of the teachers from Mary velayat was recognition of the contribution of Turkmen educators to the preservation and promotion of national culture at the international level.
The Turkmenistan delegation took part in the fourth high-level meeting of the EU's DARYA programme, held on 30–31 October in Turin, Italy. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews. A student from Turkmenistan studying at the Higher School of Education of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana (Kazakhstan), won the international competition ‘Best Student of the Turkic Peoples,’ organised by the National Innovation Research Centre ‘Bilim-orkenieti’ in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews. He was awarded a first-class diploma, a medal and a cup, according to the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. H. Parrykov has already achieved great success: in December 2023, he won the ‘Kultegin’ scholarship, and in March 2025, he received a first-degree diploma and the ‘Best Student of Central Asia’ cup. In September 2025, the student also became a prize-winner of the CIS competition within the framework of an international conference in Uzbekistan, where he was awarded the ‘Milliy Iftixor’ (‘National Pride’) medal, a certificate and a commemorative plaque. Hemra Parrykov is a native of the Gubadag etrap of Dashoguz velayat and continues to successfully represent Turkmenistan at international educational events.
During his official visit to the United States, Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev held talks with representatives of ‘AC Language School’. With the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, the parties agreed to launch pilot programmes in tourism, technology, engineering, energy and the agricultural sector, with an emphasis on practical training and teacher training. A key element of the agreement was the introduction of a ‘train-the-trainer’ model aimed at improving the qualifications of teachers and ensuring the sustainable development of the project. The localisation of teaching materials, taking into account the characteristics of local industries and the level of digital skills of students, was also discussed. As part of the initiative, it is planned to introduce certification according to international standards, which will expand the career opportunities for graduates. In the near future, ‘AC Language School’ will prepare a concept note for the launch of the pilot phase of the programme.
A delegation from Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev visited the University of Wyoming (UW) as part of a working trip to the United States, according to the online news resource TerraNews. The Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan has become a new member of the Association of State Universities and Research Centres of the Caspian Region Countries. A representative of the Innovation and Information Centre of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan participated in the 10th session of the Lisbon Recognition Convention Committee on higher education qualifications, which was held on 22 October at UNESCO headquarters in Paris under the auspices of UNESCO and the Council of Europe. The Committee, established to ensure fair recognition of diplomas and degrees between participating countries, discussed the revised Code of Good Practice in the Provision of Transnational Education, issues of using AI to automate the recognition of qualifications and verification of documents. Representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the country's leading universities and colleges are on a working visit to the United States from 18 to 28 October. The purpose of the visit is to sign memoranda of understanding, develop academic exchanges between students and teachers, and discuss joint projects in the field of education, science and technology. The first item on the agenda was Northwest College (Wyoming), where the delegation familiarised themselves with the educational facilities and met with the college administration. Further visits are planned to Montana State University Billings, the University of Montana, Montana State University, and the University of Wyoming, as well as meetings in Washington on the topics of online learning, technological diplomacy, and innovative educational programmes. The topics of negotiations cover a wide range of areas, from English language and pedagogy to ecology, healthcare, economics, engineering, and IT. As noted, cooperation between educational institutions in Turkmenistan and the United States is actively developing. The intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of education, signed in 2023, has opened up new opportunities for universities and research centres in both countries. Particular attention is paid to the partnership with Kent State University and the participation of Turkmen students and teachers in international programmes and internships.
From 14 to 17 October 2025, the city of Surabaya (Indonesia) hosted the World Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA 2025) international competition, which brought together young scientists from dozens of countries around the world. Participants included representatives from Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, China, India, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Iran and other countries. Turkmenistan was represented at the forum by students from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University, Gadyr Orazberdiyev and Selbi Kerimgulyeva, who presented a project entitled ‘In silico and AI-driven design of novel inhibitors against the 23S gene of clarithromycin-resistant Helicobacter pylori.’ The researchers used AI and computer modelling methods to create new compounds against the bacterium that causes gastrointestinal diseases. The work was highly praised by the jury: the project was awarded a gold medal and the ‘Semi Grand Award’, confirming the growth of the scientific and innovative potential of Turkmenistan's youth.
