On 20 August, a meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The main topic of the meeting was preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality.

The event was attended by members of the Presidium, the leadership of the parliament and the government, representatives of parties, public organisations and the media.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasised the importance of the tradition of joint discussion of state tasks and noted that the upcoming meeting in September will be a significant stage in summarising the country's development and discussing priority areas.

The meeting approved the Organising Committee, set the date and venue for the forum, and identified key issues, including socio-economic development, awarding citizens for labour achievements, preparations for the anniversary of neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Special attention was paid to the improvement of the capital, the organisation of international events, the provision of conditions for guests and the media, as well as the strengthening of Turkmenistan's international position as a neutral and peace-loving state.

The meeting ended with the signing of resolutions on the convening of the Halk Maslahaty and words about the unity of the people and the state.
