Turkmenistan strengthens international trade cooperation at UNCTAD session

A delegation from Turkmenistan led by Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agahanov took part in the 16th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The event took place from 19 to 23 October in Geneva, according to IIC.

In his speech at the plenary session on 20 October, the Minister emphasised the country's commitment to open and mutually beneficial trade and the importance of strengthening cooperation between developing countries.

On the same day, the Turkmen delegation met with UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan to discuss digital trade, export support and the sustainability of global supply chains.

During the session, the Turkmen delegation also participated in panel discussions and a conference for landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), held negotiations with the Geneva Centre for Neutrality, the Swiss Joint Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

Following the session, Turkmenistan confirmed its readiness to develop international cooperation, strengthen exports and promote sustainable economic growth.
