On 3 October, the German Embassy in Turkmenistan held a formal reception at the ‘Yyldyz’ Hotel in Ashgabat to mark German Unity Day. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.
Bernd Heinze, German Ambassador to Turkmenistan, and Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, delivered welcoming speeches.
The Ambassador emphasised the strengthening of Turkmen-German relations in politics, economics, healthcare and culture, as well as Germany's willingness to invest in energy, transport, logistics and ‘green’ technologies.
The Head of the diplomatic mission noted the active study of the German language in the country: more than 50,000 people are studying at the ‘Dil’ training centre and PASCH schools, whose chain is planned to be expanded.
Nokerguly Atagulyev congratulated the guests on the holiday and noted the successful work of German companies in Turkmenistan, emphasising constructive cooperation at the highest level.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted joint projects in medicine, including the creation of a large medical cluster with scientific research and the production of medical products.
