Turkmenistan has proposed drafting an International Code on the Peaceful Use of Artificial Intelligence in International Relations and Diplomacy under the auspices of the UN. This was announced on 28 September by Vepa Hajiyev, Turkmenistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, during the general political debate at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, according to the news agency Orient.

The initiative aims to establish international approaches to the responsible use of AI technologies.

The Turkmen side also proposed holding an International Digital Dialogue in Ashgabat on issues of digital trust and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
