In honour of the 34th anniversary of independence, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree awarding citizens with state honours. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Decree notes the contribution of citizens to strengthening the sovereignty and international authority of the country, as well as the development of the economy, science, culture, sports, education and healthcare.

The awards were given for achievements in the oil and gas, construction, industrial, agricultural and other sectors, the introduction of new technologies, the improvement of production and the quality of services, as well as for successes in the arts, journalism, physical culture and public activities.

Particular attention was paid to the work of specialists, creative and sports teams, the education of young people in the spirit of devotion to the Motherland, and the strengthening of Turkmenistan's international image. Citizens who have been awarded orders and medals were nominated for the awards.
