Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs departments of the CIS

Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov took part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, which was held on 9 October in Dushanbe. This was reported by the online news resource TerraNews.

The Heads of Foreign Affairs discussed topical issues on the regional and international agenda, the current state and prospects of cooperation within the Commonwealth. Particular attention was paid to the development of economic, digital, transport and humanitarian ties.

Separate consideration was given to issues of preserving historical and cultural heritage, supporting theatre, music and cinema, as well as training personnel for the cultural sphere.

Following the meeting, a plan for multi-level inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS for 2026 was approved. The next meeting of foreign ministers will be held on 17 April 2026 in Kaliningrad.
