The Turkmen delegation, together with representatives from the United Kingdom and Central Asian countries, took part in an event in Dushanbe to share experiences in the field of migration statistics, assessing the impact on the labour market and adapting data to user needs. This was reported by the online publication Business Turkmenistan.

The event, organised by the UK government and the EGED programme, brought together the national statistical services of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the Central Asian countries held bilateral negotiations with their British colleagues to strengthen cooperation in the field of statistics.

The EGED (Effective Governance for Economic Development) programme is a five-year project funded by the UK, aimed at improving the effectiveness, transparency and accountability of economic policy in the region.
