Turkmenistan and Slovakia discussed prospects for further cooperation

On 18 September, Hemra Amannazarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Slovakia, paid a working visit to Bratislava. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Austria.

During the visit, the Ambassador held meetings to discuss the development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

At a meeting with Marek Eštok, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, the parties noted the need to intensify political contacts, expand economic ties and strengthen cultural exchange, including cooperation in international organisations.

During negotiation with Slovak Deputy Minister of Economy Vladimir Simonak, the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, the creation of an Intergovernmental Turkmen-Slovak Commission on Economic Cooperation and the holding of its first meeting were discussed.

The importance of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, signed in August 2025, was also emphasised.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of contacts between Turkmenistan and Slovakia for the development of bilateral relations.
