Turkmenistan and Poland discussed expanding bilateral cooperation

On 4 July, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister M. Byashimova and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Pawel Kowal held talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, noting the positive dynamics of interaction within international organisations, including the European Union. Particular attention was paid to the importance of dialogue in the ‘Central Asia – European Union’ format.

The Turkmen side expressed gratitude to Poland for its consistent support for Turkmenistan's initiatives at the UN. In turn, the participants in the talks confirmed their readiness to intensify intergovernmental and interparliamentary contacts.

A significant part of the discussion was devoted to the development of trade and economic cooperation, including the organisation of joint business forums and participation in exhibitions on a mutual basis. The sides also emphasised the need to strengthen humanitarian ties in the fields of culture, education and science.

The meeting demonstrated the mutual interest of Turkmenistan and Poland in deepening their multifaceted partnership and opened up new prospects for bilateral cooperation.
