Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discussed key cooperation priorities

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the International Forum, TDH reports.

During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of the Azerbaijani delegation’s participation in events dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

Ali Asadov expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized that Turkmenistan’s neutrality has become an example of a policy of trust. He also conveyed greetings and congratulations from President Ilham Aliyev to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State recalled that this year coincides with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of the recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. He expressed confidence that the Forum would create conditions for discussing pressing international issues and expanding cooperation.

The parties noted the sustainable development of Turkmen-Azerbaijani dialogue and the shared historical and cultural heritage that underpins their partnership. They confirmed their readiness to strengthen interaction in areas of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Ali Asadov exchanged well-wishes and reaffirmed their commitment to developing cooperation between the two countries.
