Representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan took part in the Fifth Meeting of the Informal Working Group of Eastern Europe and Central Asia on Passenger Data and the Ninth Thematic Seminar organised by the Transnational Threats Division of the OSCE Secretariat in cooperation with the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office (UNOCT). This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Austria.
The events were held at the Hofburg Conference Centre in Vienna and brought together representatives of relevant agencies from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Participants discussed the practical aspects of implementing Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR) systems.
The Turkmenistan delegation presented updated information on the work being done to improve national border management and information exchange systems, and discussed with OSCE and UNOCT experts the prospects for further cooperation, including programmes to strengthen human resources and provide technical support.
