Turkmenistan took part in the UNECE Sustainable Energy Week in Geneva. The delegation was led by Vekilmuhammet Ussayev, Deputy Chairman of the State Concern ‘Türkmennebit’, according to the Orient news agency.
During the meetings, strategic directions for the development of global and regional energy systems were discussed. The main theme of the event was ‘Just Transition for Building Resilient Energy Systems.’ Representatives of Turkmenistan emphasised the country's balance between the use of hydrocarbon potential and the introduction of ‘green’ technologies.
The forum focused on cooperation between SPECA countries and the role of energy as the basis for economic interaction. Discussions covered the development of renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, the digital transformation of systems and training, as well as issues of sustainable mobility and access to modern technologies.
Participation in the Week allowed Turkmenistan to present its achievements in energy security, set priorities for 2026–2027, and exchange experiences with international experts.
