On 1 July 2025, Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov held telephone talks with the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Niger, Bakary Yaou Sangaré. During the conversation, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding partnership in various areas of mutual interest. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of establishing regular dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries. The Ministers noted the alignment of positions on key issues of the international agenda.

A significant part of the talks was devoted to preparations for the Third Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in Turkmenistan in August 2025. The sides confirmed their readiness for constructive interaction within the framework of this important international forum.

At the end of the talks, the diplomats agreed to continue consultations on topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
