On 22 October, Turkmenistan's Minister of Education Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev met with Mr. Si Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Minister congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and noted the strategic importance of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in education.

The parties discussed the development of Chinese language studies, academic exchanges, teacher training and joint digital education projects. The Turkmen side expressed its gratitude to China for its support in providing grants and discussed the expansion of scholarships for students.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the ‘Lu Ban Workshop’ project with the participation of the Turkmen International University of Oil and Gas and Chinese universities. The meeting ended with a confirmation of readiness for further practical cooperation.
