A meeting was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with a delegation from the Seimas of Lithuania, led by Dainius Varnas, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group. This was reported by the press office of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
The parties discussed the further development of inter-parliamentary relations. The Lithuanian side expressed an interest in expanding cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and parliamentary spheres.
Particular attention was paid to the ‘Central Asia–European Union’ framework. The participants noted its role in developing political dialogue and transport and logistics cooperation.
The parties also emphasised the importance of parliamentary friendship groups for exchanging experience in the field of legislation and further strengthening bilateral relations.
