From 21 to 23 October, events organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) were held in Tokyo, with a delegation from the Football Federation of Turkmenistan in attendance. The programme included a conference of presidents and general secretaries of national and regional associations, as well as an extraordinary AFC Congress, the International Information Centre of Turkmenistan reports.

The conference of presidents and general secretaries of AFC member associations took place on 21–22 October, followed by the Confederation’s extraordinary Congress on 23 October.

Participants discussed strategic priorities for the development of Asian football, improvements in sports management, the modernisation of youth academies and the development of club competitions. Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation among national associations.

The meetings also provided an opportunity for representatives of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan to discuss prospects for international cooperation with counterparts from other countries and AFC officials.
