On September 27, an Ahal-Teke horse named Watan was unveiled at the festive square in front of the State Tribune. Two horsemen in national costumes led him out. The horse's harness was adorned with pieces crafted by Turkmen jewelers, reports the TDH news agency.

Watan is a light-bay horse with a white mane, a descendant of the racehorses Hankerwen and Shaperi, and belongs to the legendary Gaplan line. To mark the 35th anniversary of independence, he was presented as a gift to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on behalf of members of the Government.
