Turkmenistan and Pakistan step up cooperation in maritime transport and logistics

During the meeting between Turkmenistan's Ambassador A. Movlamov and Pakistan's Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar, which was held on 1 September 2025, the main focus will be on improving the efficiency of transit and logistics capabilities of the seaports of Turkmenbashi, Karachi and Gwadar. This was reported by IIC.

During the negotiation, the significant prospects for bilateral cooperation in the development of railway infrastructure, which is capable of ensuring sustainable transport links between the countries of the region, were highlighted. Particular attention was paid to the importance of multilateral cooperation for more active use of Pakistan's territory as a connecting bridge to strengthen economic ties, diversify supply routes and expand the transit potential of the region.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue constructive dialogue on all the topics discussed and noted the importance of accelerating the practical implementation of joint initiatives to ensure sustainable economic growth.
