The 10th International Festival of Turkic Culture ‘KURULTAI’ is being held in Romania from 5 to 7 September, which is an important platform for showcasing the cultural heritage of the Turkic and Tatar peoples. The event, organised with the official support of the Romanian Ministry of Culture and under the auspices of UNESCO, included Turkmen films in its programme for the first time this year. This was reported by IIC.

Turkmen cinema is represented at the festival by the works ‘Red Kurte’ by director Sahysalyh Bayramov and the film ‘Red Apple’ by Hekim Alovov, based on the works of Hero Arkadag and revealing the depth of traditional Turkmen values.

The films by Turkmen filmmakers fit organically into the festival programme, which also featured exhibitions of folk art, interactive master classes and traditional games. Turkmenistan's participation in this prestigious cultural event was a significant contribution to strengthening intercultural dialogue and underscored the country's commitment to preserving its unique cultural heritage.
