On 26 November, Turkmenistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Rashid Meredov had a phone conversation with the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of The Gambia, Sering Modou Njie. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The interlocutors discussed cooperation in international structures, primarily within the framework of the UN. It was noted that a Gambian delegation headed by Vice-President Muhammad Jallow participated in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which was held in Turkmenistan in August.

The parties confirmed their readiness for further cooperation. The conversation also touched upon preparations for the International Forum, which will be held in Ashgabat on 12 December to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, the International Year of Peace and Trust, and the International Day of Neutrality.
