The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, took part in the opening ceremony of the new complex of buildings of the ‘Sarahs’ border guard detachment of the State Border Guard Service. This was reported by the state news agency TDH.

The modern complex includes an administrative building, barracks, a cultural centre, sports grounds, a medical unit, a canteen and residential buildings for 144 families. All conditions for the service and daily life of military personnel have been created here: equipped recreation rooms, a library, leisure rooms, as well as social infrastructure facilities — a shop, a children's playground and a sports ground.

The Head of State familiarised himself with the technical equipment of the border guard detachment, including the video surveillance system and modern equipment for round-the-clock border control. The President of Turkmenistan also inspected new military equipment and uniform samples, emphasising the importance of further strengthening the material and technical base of the army and training young personnel.

Particular attention was paid to creating comfortable conditions for the families of border guards: the new apartments are equipped with modern furniture, kitchen equipment, heating and cooling systems. The President of Turkmenistan handed over the keys to new cars and noted that caring for military personnel and their families is one of the priorities of state policy.

The opening of the complex coincided with the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and became a symbol of efforts to strengthen the country's defence capabilities, as well as confirmation of the course towards improving social conditions for military personnel.
