President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on 5 June. This is reported by the state news agency TDH.

The Heads of State exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing each other and the peoples of their countries peace and prosperity. The Iranian President stressed the importance of strengthening friendship and cooperation with Turkmenistan and expressed warm words to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Special attention was paid to Turkmenistan's peaceful foreign policy and the initiative to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust.

The sides stressed the strong historical and cultural ties between the peoples and reaffirmed the desire to develop trade, economic and humanitarian relations.

At the end of the conversation, the interlocutors wished each other success in state activity, and the peoples of the country - stability and prosperity.
