President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the people of Turkmenistan on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. This was reported by the news agency TDH.

In his congratulatory letter, Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted Turkmenistan’s achievements in the political, economic and social spheres, as well as its international standing.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan emphasised Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s contribution to strengthening Turkmenistan as a neutral state and enhancing its role on the international stage.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also offered his congratulations on the unanimous adoption in May 2026 of the United Nations Resolution ‘The role and importance of a policy of neutrality in maintaining and strengthening international peace, security and sustainable development’.

The letter noted that the fraternal and good-neighbourly relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan form the basis for constructive cooperation. Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence in the further development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
