Malaysia’s PETRONAS is exploring opportunities to participate in gas projects in Turkmenistan. This was announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, according to the online publication “Business Turkmenistan”.
He noted that a Malaysian delegation is expected to visit Turkmenistan in mid-June to discuss energy cooperation, and the Prime Minister himself may also join the talks.
According to Anwar Ibrahim, expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan will create new opportunities for PETRONAS in one of the world’s largest gas-producing regions and is in line with Malaysia’s energy security interests.
Turkmenistan, which possesses substantial natural gas reserves, continues to develop international cooperation and attract foreign partners for the implementation of major energy projects.
