The 31st International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” (OGT 2026) was held in Ashgabat on October 21–23. The forum brought together more than 1,700 delegates from 75 countries, representing around 450 companies, the news agency “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.
The event was organized by the state concerns Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit and the State Corporation Türkmengeologiýa, in cooperation with Turkmen Energy Forum. The program included high-level strategic discussions, an international exhibition, technical sessions and business meetings.
Particular attention was given to the phased development of the Galkynyş gas field, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, regional energy connectivity, offshore exploration in the Caspian Sea, and the development of gas processing and the oil and gas chemical industries.
The participation of leading energy companies and government delegations highlighted the forum’s international scope. Discussions addressed the role of natural gas in ensuring energy security, supporting industrial development and driving economic growth. Participants also explored prospects for expanding cooperation in the energy sector and attracting long-term investment.
One of the key outcomes of the conference was the signing of five documents with international partners from China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The agreements covered cooperation in the Caspian energy sector, oil and gas services, equipment supplies and the procurement of industrial products.
Modern technologies and sustainable development also featured prominently on the agenda. Thematic discussions focused on the application of artificial intelligence, the digital transformation of the energy sector, workforce training, methane emissions reduction and improved energy efficiency.
The international exhibition gave companies an opportunity to showcase technological solutions, industrial equipment and services for the oil and gas industry. B2B and B2G meetings facilitated direct engagement among project stakeholders, government representatives and potential partners, while providing a platform to discuss opportunities for implementing joint initiatives.
The forum concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing participants for their contributions to the event and the adoption of an Address from the conference participants to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
OGT 2026 reaffirmed Ashgabat’s role as a venue for international energy dialogue. The forum brought together discussions on the sector’s strategic development priorities and practical opportunities to attract investment, introduce technological solutions and strengthen long-term partnerships.
The discussions held and agreements reached provide a foundation for further cooperation between Turkmenistan’s energy-sector government entities and international partners on joint projects, infrastructure development and the expansion of bilateral and multilateral ties.
