From 8 to 17 July 2025, the 66th session of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Assembly is being held in Geneva, with the participation of a delegation from Turkmenistan headed by the Head of the State Intellectual Property Service. This was reported by the IIC.

The session, which brings together representatives from more than 100 countries, is discussing topical issues in the development of the international intellectual property system. The main focus is on finding a balance between the interests of rights holders and users in the context of rapid technological progress, as well as issues of regulating artificial intelligence in the context of copyright.

The Turkmen delegation plans to hold a series of meetings with representatives of international organisations and foreign states. The talks will focus on improving the national intellectual property system, implementing the provisions of the National Programme for 2021-2025 and the prospects for joining new international treaties.

Turkmenistan's participation in the work of WIPO confirms the country's commitment to international standards in the field of intellectual property protection and its desire for active cooperation in this area at the global level.
