Drilling of the deepest exploration well No.1907 at the West Goturdepe field has been completed, the depth of which is about 4,000 metres. The work was carried out by the expedition ‘Lebapnebitgazgazgözleg’ of the State Corporation ‘Turkmengeologiya’, the online news resource TerraNews reported.

According to the source, the results exceeded the forecasts of specialists - a steady commercial inflow of hydrocarbons was obtained.

According to the results of the research, significant deposits of oil and natural gas were identified at the 13th horizon of the lower red-coloured strata. The well shows a daily flow rate of 93.4 tonnes of oil and 4,430 cubic metres of gas.

According to experts, the achieved indicators confirm the high potential of the field and the strategic importance of the discovered reserves. This discovery strengthens Turkmenistan's mineral resource base and demonstrates the effectiveness of modern geological exploration methods used in the country.
