The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the Turkmen people and the Halk Maslahaty, congratulated the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as on the Day of Magtymguly Pyragy. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled the President's words that ‘every nation is known in the world for its culture’ and noted that state policy in this area is a source of pride for the people.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also emphasised that Magtymguly Pyragy's dream of a sovereign state had come true in a new historical era, and that the adoption of the law on his cultural heritage had strengthened global recognition of the great poet's work.
