On 16 July 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Gordan Grlić-Radman. During the conversation, the diplomats discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, paying particular attention to trade and economic interaction. This was reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The ministers noted the productive cooperation between the two countries within the UN and OSCE platforms and agreed to prepare for the upcoming visit of the Croatian minister to Turkmenistan in October 2025. During the visit, it is planned to hold the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Economic Forum with the participation of representatives of the business circles of both countries.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat in December 2025. The sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of the negotiations and reaffirmed their intention to develop partnership relations.
