A delegation from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Turkmenistan took part in the international programme ‘School of Policy on Sustainable Energy Transition’, held at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy). This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

Representatives from all five Central Asian countries also took part in the training. The ‘BRIDGE’ programme was organised with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Participants studied current trends in the global energy sector, issues relating to decarbonisation, the development of the “green” economy, the application of artificial intelligence in the energy sector, and the ‘WEFE Nexus’ cross-sectoral approach.

As part of the practical component, the delegation visited A2A’s control centre, where they familiarised themselves with digital energy supply management systems and learnt about the company’s experience in implementing projects in the fields of renewable energy and hydropower infrastructure.

At the conclusion of the programme, participants were awarded international certificates. The Academy noted that the knowledge gained and the professional contacts established would contribute to the development of international cooperation, the improvement of training for civil servants, and the implementation of modern approaches to Turkmenistan’s energy policy.
