The ‘Balkan’ cement plant, owned by the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan, is an example of the dynamic development of the country's national economy. This was reported by the news agency ‘Turkmenistan: Golden age’.

The plant is located near the city of Balkanabat and covers an area of 50 hectares. Hundreds of specialists work here in several shifts. Three four-storey buildings have been constructed on the factory premises to provide comfortable living and working conditions for employees.

Production processes at the factory are fully automated. The coordinated work of all departments, from the garage to the control centres, ensures a stable output of construction materials. Products are regularly delivered to sites throughout the country.

Since the beginning of the year, the plant has produced and shipped more than 403,000 tonnes of cement, increasing volumes by 29%. The raw materials used — limestone, clay, sand, gypsum and ore — are extracted within the Balkan velayat, which speeds up production and reduces its cost.
