A meeting with a Pakistani delegation led by Senator Naseema Ehsan, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Delegated Legislation, was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, reports the online news resource TerraNews.

The Turkmen side presented the country's foreign policy priorities, its energy potential and its role as a logistics centre on Eurasian transport routes.

Discussions focused on the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Afghanistan and the new phase of the TAPI gas pipeline – the Serhetabat-Herat section (‘Arkadagyň ak ýoly’), as well as the TAP power line, which are important for Pakistan's energy security, especially in Balochistan.

Pakistan has confirmed its interest in expanding cooperation in energy, trade and transport. The parties agreed to continue joint projects and strengthen bilateral partnership.
