Cooperation with Cyprus Discussed at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan

On May 14, a meeting was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Turkmenistan, Kypros Georgallis. This was reported by the press service of the Mejlis.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation. The Turkmen side emphasized the importance of expanding relations with foreign states on the basis of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, which has been recognized three times by the UN General Assembly. The country’s commitment to developing international cooperation within the framework of its peaceful foreign policy was also highlighted.
Particular attention was paid to interparliamentary diplomacy. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to strengthen ties with the parliaments of other countries based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and trust. The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in trade and economic spheres, exchange of legislative experience, and the development of humanitarian contacts.
