The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at Ashgabat International Airport, AsmanNews reports.

The guest was welcomed according to Turkmen traditions—with bread and salt and flowers. Following the ceremony, the sides held a brief meeting.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that regular visits confirm the stable nature of interstate dialogue. He thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for participating in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the significance of the forum, which will be held in Ashgabat. According to him, the event will draw the attention of the international community and strengthen the authority of Turkmenistan, which pursues a peaceful policy of positive neutrality.

The parties expressed confidence that Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation will continue to develop and reach a new level.
