On 21–22 June 2025, the 51st meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Istanbul with the participation of a Turkmen delegation. During the event, key issues of politics, economics, culture, science and humanitarian cooperation were discussed, as well as ways to strengthen stability and sustainable development in OIC countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The representative of Turkmenistan emphasised the country's commitment to developing partnerships within the OIC and expanding cooperation with the organisation's member states. Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly.

On 22 June, at the proposal of Turkmenistan, a resolution ‘On the Role of the Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development in the OIC Space and Around the World’ was unanimously adopted. The document confirms that neutrality contributes to strengthening stability and developing mutually beneficial relations between countries.

The adoption of the resolution reflects recognition of Turkmenistan's peacekeeping strategy aimed at strengthening trust, developing dialogue and constructive international cooperation.
