On 20 November, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Herat held a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

The event took place in the conference hall of the ‘Arg’ Hotel. The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Herat Province, Noor Ahmad Islamjar, representatives of the UN mission, consulate heads and the Turkmen diaspora of Herat and Badghiz provinces.

Participants discussed the role of Turkmenistan's neutrality in strengthening peace, security, international cooperation and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The programme included video clips, an exhibition of Turkmen culture and a reception with national dishes.
