Teachers in Turkmenistan have received awards for their contribution to climate education

Teachers from Turkmenistan have won prizes at the 3rd International Competition for the Development of Teaching Materials on Climate Change, organised by the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub as part of the ‘Climate Box’ initiative. This was reported by the news website Turkmenportal.

UNDP’s Resident Representative in Turkmenistan, Narine Sahakyan, presented the winners with certificates and commemorative gifts. First place went to teachers from School No. 11 in Turkmenabat, second place to School No. 55 in Ashgabat, and third place to School No. 2 in Farap.

The participants’ work was recognised for its innovative approaches to teaching climate-related topics and fostering environmental responsibility among schoolchildren. The ‘Climate Box’ educational kit, adapted into Turkmen and Russian, has been prepared for use in schools across the country.
