New Indian Ambassador accredited in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan, Bandaru Wilsonbabu. This was reported by the news website Asmannews.

During the meeting, the diplomat expressed his gratitude for the reception and emphasised that it was a great honour for him to represent India in a country that is dynamically developing along the path of reform. The Ambassador also conveyed warm wishes to the President of Turkmenistan and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov from the President of India Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening the multifaceted partnership between Turkmenistan and India.

It was noted that relations between the two countries are developing steadily in the political-diplomatic, economic, energy, transport, educational and cultural spheres. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of energy, including the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project and the development of transport corridors, which should contribute to energy security and economic growth in the region.

The President of Turkmenistan also emphasised the importance of humanitarian ties, noting that the growing interest of Turkmen youth in learning the Indian language and the expansion of academic exchanges contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and confirmed his readiness to actively promote the development of traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and India.
