Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J. Gurbangeldiyev met with Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Rahim Saidzoda on October 22. The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in education, the press service of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Education reported.

The Tajik side expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for the construction of the Magtymguly Turkmen school. To improve the quality of education, the sides proposed expanding cooperation in textbook preparation, the development of educational programs and teacher training.

The meeting also covered ways to improve the legal framework for teacher retraining and organize short-term internships. Both sides confirmed their interest in expanding contacts between the relevant ministries and educational institutions of the two countries.
