Direct air service between Turkmenistan and Pakistan is seen as a strategic step that opens up new prospects in business, trade and cultural ties. This was reported by IIC Turkmenistan.

This was written by Faryal Leghari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, in the newspaper ‘Neutral Turkmenistan’. The Head of the diplomatic mission emphasised that a two-hour flight connects Turkmenistan with Pakistan and provides access to the international network of ‘Turkmen Airlines’, covering Europe, Russia, China and the Asia-Pacific region.

The resumption of flights will stimulate trade: it will speed up the delivery of fruit, vegetables, meat and rice and create new routes as part of Pakistan's ‘Vision for Central Asia’ strategy, which opens up access to world markets through the ports of Karachi and Gwadar.

The cooperation promises development in the textile industry, simplification of business contacts (business visas within 24 hours), and expansion of cultural exchanges — from fashion to medical and educational tourism.
