The Heads of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan and Iraq held negotiations on strengthening bilateral relations

On 12 November, a telephone conversation was held between the Foreign Affairs Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Mohammed Hussein. This was reported by TerraNews.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Iraqi relations, discussing cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and humanitarian fields.

The Heads of Foreign Affairs confirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries, including within international structures, primarily the United Nations.

Special attention was paid to preparations for the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will be held on 12 December in Ashgabat and will be timed to coincide with the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and International Neutrality Day.
